Nathan Safran over at Search Engine Watch has a great graphical representation of the changes Google has made to the search results users see. He talks about how the menu bar has changed positions and how the knowledge graph is starting to provide the information users are searching for without needing to leave the results page. The article does a great job of showing the changes visually and is a great read if you are interested in how your page might be represented on the search results page.
